The CAN of Hospitality: a coffee-table book so the emotion outlives the final whistle
An AFCON lasts a month. Its memory is either built or lost. Esprit d’Équipe conceived, published and promoted the reference book of AFCON 2023, still on sale today.

01The problem
AFCON 2023 was Côte d’Ivoire’s biggest showcase in decades: new stadiums, praised hospitality, and the Elephants crowned at home. Yet major events rarely leave an editorial legacy worthy of them.
The challenge: turn 30 days of shared emotion into a reference object that tells the story of Ivorian hospitality to institutions, partners and the public, long after the tournament.
02The insight
Collective emotion fades within weeks unless something anchors it. Ivorians wanted a keepsake of the AFCON they hosted, and institutions wanted an object to give that tells the country’s story.
03The idea
Make hospitality, not just the sporting result, the thread of a book that outlasts the tournament.
04The execution
Esprit d’Équipe led the project end to end, backed by its media ecosystem.
- Editorial concept and storytelling built around hospitality, the signature of the Ivorian AFCON
- Premium edition, crafted as a collector’s item
- Launch campaign on large-format billboards (12 m²), amplified by Sport-Ivoire and Sport Ivoire TV
- Long-term distribution: the book is still on sale

05The impact
The book remains on sale, making it one of the few AFCON 2023 assets still active today.
